Profile
Was their meeting the work of chance or fate?
How it all started was less important than how it ended. What the girls did there, straddling the boundaries of space and time, left an indelible mark on both themselves and the world around them. As fighters, as friends, as Guardians, they would never be the same...
Shannen was to knowledge what a sponge was to water. She spent every waking moment poring over the written word, absorbing everything from gaudy romance novels to bleeding-edge research journals.
She did this not out of a desire to sate her curiosity, but to fulfill what she saw as her duty. She read not for the pleasure of discovering new things, but for the purpose of inputting new data into her filing cabinet of a mind.
She wasn't satisfied with just knowing something; she had to know everything. What kind of sponge only left a spill half-clean?
Things began to go downhill when she realized the full scope of her work. It was an impossible task, but she felt compelled to see it through to the end.
Whenever hopelessness or despair seeped through the cracks, she beat them back with logic and reason. She couldn't eradicate her emotions for good, though. Instead, they only dragged her down.
In the end, she was saved by what she feared most: ignorance.
